INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

Barrett's Internship Program is designed to provide a learning experience for college students in a professional work environment in order to enhance and build skills.

The internships are designed to give students an opportunity to work and observe a professional setting, clarify major and career goals, and plan future course work. Barrett Paving, in turn, gains an opportunity to help the community by participating in the educational process and identify potential applicants for future positions.

The length of the internship is determined by Barrett and the student, depending on the availability of time and work. Internships are available in several fields of study, generally determined by Barrett's current needs and the student's major. Typically, these fields include:

  • Business Administration
  • Construction
  • Estimating
  • Engineering
  • Accounting

All interns are considered temporary employees, and are therefore not entitled to employee benefits, but are expected to adhere to all company policies. Any payment to the intern will be determined on a case-by-case basis depending on the region in which the work is done. Interns may earn college credit for their work at Barrett.
